How Stress Is Impacting Your Life

Story time! When I was a sophomore in college I came to a realization that I was always out of breath… I couldn’t rationalize why but I could never quite “catch that breath”. After months of dealing with this racing heart, I remember very vividly one day while I was walking home it dawned on me that my racing heart could very well have something to do with my daily routine. I didn’t “feel” stressed, I felt as if I held good composure. I consider myself an “everything will be alright” kind of gal; so even with a long list of things to do I can keep my cool. However, the constant rushing and running was really hitting me.
In that exact moment I realized how my shins were stinging from walking so fast. I thought "hmm, it makes sense!". I told myself to slow down and breathe, and I did. I made a promise to myself that I was going to be VERY cautious of slowing down my life. When I would walk, eat, drive, exercise… all the dimensions! And after making the slow feel normal, my racing heart slowed down and I felt at ease. It actually blew my mind at how the two aspects were completely intertwined.
My life was still moving fast when I incorporated the "slow life", and truth be told, it’s going just as fast, if not faster, at this point! But I don't experience the out-of-breath-feeling. I can breathe now. The difference is in how I am breathing, walking, and LIVING.
Sooo, that being said, let’s talk some science!
Our stress levels are impacted by a lot of factors in our life, and how our brain reacts to those events will initiate how our INTERNAL BODY reacts. Our adrenal glands are what’s told to initiate reaction, and as a reaction they release the hormones adrenaline and cortisol in corresponding levels to how they're told. If your body is saying "okayyyyy, yeah, release ALL the cortisol, I'm super stressed!", then your adrenals will release too much cortisol, resulting in them eventually being burnt out and too tired.
Now, the levels of these hormones are a reflection of our digestion, growth, reproduction, and immunity functions. Meaning that if your letting the daily life factors impact you too much then the previously-stated functions will fall with the imbalanced hormones.
Main idea: hormones associated with “reaction” (adrenaline and cortisol) can become completely out of whack when we are constantly telling our bodies to freak out. This results in declining function of other primary systems in our bodies such as digestion and reproduction. This impacts aging, ability to fight sickness, and how we are able to maintain weight.
How do we fix the problem? First, focus on the mental aspect. Focus on being positive, deep-breathing more often, and finding more time for yourself and meditation. BE STILL and be THANKFUL! Mental clarity is the soul and base of physical well-being! Second, try including adaptogenic herbs like ashwagagnda, include CBD oil in your regimen, or take an adrenal restore supplement!
Juice Plus has their Whole Foods capsules that all together cover 30 servings of fruits and veggies daily! Including these on a consistent regimen will help your cells from being damaged by oxidative stress. Happy cells equals a happy body! You can use my Juice Plus support link here if you wanted to learn more or place an order! I personally use the quad pack: fruit, veggie, berry, and omega!
Be still and live happily, everyone. #ThisMomentMatters #PHASEmpowermentAcademy
